Following a hard-fought first-round playoff series, I want to take a moment, on behalf of the London Nationals organization, to recognize the Stratford Warriors and the way they competed.
Playoff hockey brings out the very best in players and teams, and our series against Stratford was no exception. It was physical, fast, and highly competitive — exactly what this time of year is all about. The Warriors earned their advancement, and they did it the right way.
There is a great deal of respect from our organization toward their players, staff, and supporters. While we battled hard on the ice, there’s an understanding and appreciation for what it takes to succeed at this level — and Stratford has shown they have that.
As they move into the second round of the Sutherland Cup Playoffs, we’re proud to support them and wish them continued success.
Junior hockey is built on competition, but also on respect. When the series ends, that respect remains — and it’s something we value strongly here in London.
To the Stratford Warriors — best of luck in the next round.
Go get ’em.
