The London Nationals are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Jory Sawyer for the 2026-27 GOHL season.
The 6’2”, 185-pound left-shot blueliner from Burketon, Ontario arrives in London following two seasons with the Peterborough Petes U18 AAA program, where he established himself as a dependable, two-way defenceman capable of logging important minutes in every situation.
Sawyer’s development has seen him progress through several of Ontario’s premier AAA organizations, including the Clarington Toros, Central Ontario Wolves, Greater Kingston Gaels, and most recently the Peterborough Petes U18 AAA. During the 2024-25 season, he recorded 15 points (3 goals, 12 assists) in 30 regular season games, while adding 6 points in 10 playoff contests. He followed that with another productive campaign in 2025-26, contributing offensively while continuing to play a reliable defensive game and helping Peterborough earn a berth at the 2026 TELUS Cup National Championship.
Sawyer combines strong skating with an active stick and a physical edge. At 6’2”, he brings size, reach, and composure to the Nationals’ defensive corps, making him difficult to play against while also possessing the ability to move the puck efficiently out of his own zone.
Sawyer’s blend of experience, defensive awareness, and steady puck movement will strengthen the Nationals’ back end as the club continues building toward the upcoming GOHL season.
