A new record was set Thursday night as Austen Pomerleau scored just 10 seconds into the third period against Sarnia, marking the fastest goal to open a third period in franchise history. The goal was assisted by Aydan Doyle, who recorded his second assist of the night.
The goal marked Pomerleau’s third of the game, completing a hat trick in dramatic fashion and surpassing the previous franchise record of 11 seconds, set by Cal Davis on September 21, 2018, against St. Marys.
The play unfolded immediately after the opening faceoff, with Doyle delivering a quick and accurate pass that allowed Pomerleau to capitalize before the Sarnia defence could react.
